Question
What discussions has the Minister had with Transport for Wales on ensuring that trains travelling the valleys lines routes have enough carriages to meet passenger demand?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
I have regular conversations with Transport for Wales about rail service provision, including about the need to provide sufficient capacity to meet the growing passenger demand across Wales and the Borders. Our £800m investment in new rolling stock will provide Transport for Wales with 484 new carriages compared to the 270 old carriages used by Arriva Trains Wales in 2018.
