Question
Further to WQ90011, will the Minister confirm the estimated cost for providing universal free school meals over the Christmas school holiday?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Education and the Welsh Language
To provide universal free school meal provision in the Christmas holiday to every child in a maintained school, would approximately cost £18.3m. This does not include any associated administration fees.
I have not met the Designated Member under the Co-operation Agreement concerning potential provision of universal free school meals over the Christmas school holiday period.
