Question
Will the Minister outline how the Welsh Government factors in Welsh-speaking communities just over the border in England into their decision making surrounding support for Welsh-speaking communities?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Education and the Welsh Language
Our Welsh language strategy, Cymraeg 2050: A million Welsh speakers, first and foremost focuses our efforts on the residents of Wales. However, we firmly believe that Cymraeg belongs to us all, wherever we are and however much Welsh we have.
Cymraeg is not bound by geographical borders. It is a living language that is used worldwide on various platforms and networks. We recognise the fact that the language is used and valued on both sides of the border.
