Question
How does the Government plan to address the issue of traffic congestion in Wales, in light of the road review?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
Following the publication of our response to the Roads Review, the Welsh Government is reprioritising investment to focus on improving safety and adapting roads to climate change.
We are also increasing our investment in sustainable modes to encourage modal shift by:
- reforming the bus industry in Wales, and building a system that puts passengers before profit and not the other way round.
- transforming train travel by investing in new services, brand new trains, and improvements at stations; and
- investing in hundreds of projects across Wales to make it easier for people to walk and cycle.
