Question
What does the Welsh Government consider to be the key long-term challenges and opportunities in teacher recruitment in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Education and the Welsh Language
The key long-term challenges remain the recruitment of Secondary teachers in priority subject areas and the recruitment of Welsh medium teachers.
We are continuing to work with our partners to develop innovative approaches to widening access to teacher training and to reduce workload and bureaucracy to make the profession more attractive to potential teachers.
