What is the most up-to-date expected completion date for work on the overall Metro project?

The Welsh Government currently has three metro programmes: the South Wales Metro; the Swansea Bay and West Wales metro; and the North Wales metro. Many different projects are taking place within these programmes which have different expected completion dates.
We are moving away from the concept of metros, and to regional transport planning. The four Corporate Joint Committees across Wales are currently developing Regional Transport Plans, which will support local partners to work at a strategic level to deliver the aims of Llwybr Newydd - the Wales Transport Strategy - and in a way that is tailored to their context. The groundwork for this has been set by our Metros programmes.
