Question
What assessment has the Minister made of the reasons for the completion of 25 per cent fewer dwellings between July and September 2023, compared to the same quarter in 2022?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
There has been a slight increase on the number of starts this quarter.
The completions figures are down by 25% on the same quarter of the previous year, reflecting a similar picture across England and Scotland.
Lower levels of completions in recent years are a reflection of the current significant economic challenges facing the UK as a whole.
