Question
On what date were local authorities in Wales notified by the Welsh Government that the provision of universal free school meals would not continue over the school holidays?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Education and the Welsh Language
The Welsh Government has never provided universal free school meals during holiday periods and has no plans to.
The universal provision of free school meals in primary schools is being carried out in collaboration with Siân Gwenllian MS, the Plaid Cymru lead designated member, as part of the Co-operation Agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru.
