How does the Minister plan to directly address the insufficient focus on developing pupils’ mathematical proficiencies, that was highlighted in the Estyn chief inspector’s annual report?

In November, last year, we published the mathematics and numeracy plan which outlined the actions we will take to raise standards and ensure support is in place so that mathematics and numeracy is taught in a way that meets the expectations of the curriculum. This will emphasise the importance of developing learners’ mathematical proficiencies which are mandatory expectations through the Principles of Progression.
