Question
What plans does the Minister have to address the issue of children being taught by unqualified teachers or cover supervisors in some schools?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Education and the Welsh Language
Governing bodies and school leaders are responsible for ensuring that staff are deployed appropriately - this includes having a suitable cover policy in place. The Welsh Government has published guidance to support schools when making these decisions, and to clarify how supply staff should be engaged and supported.
