What assessment has the Minister made of local authorities' ability to fully fund teachers’ pay awards?

Meeting the cost of teachers’ pay is part of the core funding provided to local authorities, as supported by the local government settlement.
Despite the incredibly challenging financial climate, in developing the draft Budget 2024-25, we have also protected frontline funding to schools within the education budget.
