Question
What figures does the Welsh Government hold on the number of asylum seekers settled in Wales since 2019?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Social Justice and Chief Whip
The Home Office is responsible for all matters relating to asylum and immigration policy; this includes the determining where those awaiting an asylum decision are accommodated.
The UK Government publishes statistics on asylum and resettlement on a quarterly basis. The UK Government does not share statistics on arrivals or resettlement with the Welsh Government.
The latest statistics and information can be found on the UK Government’s website Asylum and resettlement datasets - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
