Question
What assessment has the Minister made of findings from the National Institute of Economic and Social Research that senior school leaders in Wales are getting older, suggesting a higher proportion of turnover in future years as retirements take place?

Headteacher succession planning is a matter for local authorities and governing bodies. However, we will work with local authorities to ensure that they develop a pool of future leaders and encourage them to undertake appropriate development, including the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).
