Question
What consideration has the Welsh Government given to the financial implications of offering a pay offer for junior doctors in Wales that exceeds the current 5 per cent offer?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services
I have provided estimated costs in answer to WQ91041 and I can confirm that Welsh Government has given due consideration to a pay offer exceeding 5% but due to the financial situation hard choices have had to be made within our limited funding.
The 5% pay offer has been made consistently to all NHS staff groups, including Agenda for Change, which was accepted by these health trade unions.
