What action is the Welsh Government taking to increase the number of firefighters in Wales, in light of comments by the Fire Brigades Union regional secretary for Wales warning that a lack of firefighters is putting lives at danger in Wales?

Fire and Rescue Authorities are autonomous bodies. They set their own budgets which are funded by their constituent local authorities, and they make decisions about how their frontline services are planned and delivered. These include decisions about recruitment and deployment of staff.
