Question
Further to WQ91778, what guidance has the Minister given to railway staff to deal with people who are travelling on core valley lines from stations without ticket booths, and who cannot access the Transport for Wales app?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
Transport for Wales’ Revenue Protection Policy exists to stop those who purposely travel without a valid ticket.
There are several alternative ways to buy rail tickets on the core valley lines when travelling from stations without ticket booths for those unable to access the TfW App. This includes via phone, online through the website or from participating Payzone retailers using cash or card. It is also possible to buy a ticket from a conductor on the train.
