Question
How does the Welsh Government plan to dissuade parents from driving short distances to drop their children off to school?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Welsh Government is actively encouraging use of sustainable modes of transport for journeys to school, this includes promoting walking, cycling, and public transport, providing funding for infrastructure improvements and raising awareness. We are committed to supporting programs that encourage active travel to schools, including funding for the Living Streets Wow Tracker Travel Programme and our Active Travel to Schools programme.
