Question
Will the Minister provide an update on how they are encouraging more people into the animation profession?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Social Partnership
The animation sector is a strategic growth area for Creative Wales. Both development and production funding is available to animation companies in Wales to develop their businesses and to employ local animators to work on Wales based projects. Under the last round of Creative Skills Funding we also supported the Hollowpixel Academy which is delivering training for six animators in 3D Blender software. This forms part of the Higher Apprenticeship in Creative & Digital Media (Level 4 Interactive Media pathway) and provides each apprentice with paid work placements within the animation sector in Wales.
