Question
What guidance does the Welsh Government issue in relation to transgenderism and gender dysphoria issue to schools, and is there a planned review of such guidance following the Cass Review?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Education
Providing appropriate national guidance for schools in Wales to support trans, nonbinary and gender questioning children and young people in education is a Welsh Government commitment. All learners need support to feel valued, included, and safe and ensuring their wellbeing is our main priority.
I recently answered a OQ61234 from Laura Anne Jones about guidance for schools following the Cass review. The reply to that question sets out the current position.
