What is the rationale behind the Welsh Government's decision to drop the target for all-age apprenticeship starts from 125,000 to 100,000, as confirmed by the Cabinet Secretary during the Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee meeting on 26 June 2024?

The target was revisited as a result of the loss of promised post European funds, inflationary pressures and the rising costs associated with apprenticeship frameworks. European funds previously supported thousands of additional apprenticeships each year in Wales.
