Question
How many mobile health clinics are currently in use across Wales?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
The number of mobile health clinics operated across the NHS in Wales is not collated centrally.
NHS Wales organisations operate a wide range of mobile services, including two mobile MRI machines, which travel around Wales, supporting the fixed imaging service.
Public Health Wales operates the Diabetic Eye Screening service which uses 40 mobile high-specification cameras, which travel across Wales as part of the service. More than £1m has been invested this financial year in replacement equipment.
Public Health Wales also operates Breast Test Wales, which has 11 mobile units and four assessment centres.
