Question
What support is the Welsh Government providing to farmers whose mental health has been affected by bovine TB?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Our programme for eradicating Bovine TB is centred around partnership working with our farmers and vets, this is crucial to reaching our shared goal of a TB-free Wales.
Improving mental health and well-being continues to be a priority for the Welsh Government which supports several important activities to aid mental health in rural communities. This includes the Wales Farm Support Group which brings together a number of farming charities to share knowledge and expertise providing a strong coordinated position on mental health support for the agriculture industry in Wales. I would strongly encourage anyone struggling with mental health to reach out and access these services.
