Question
What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the safety of buildings in Wales in light of the publication of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry report?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government
We are carefully considering the recommendations contained within the Grenfell Phase 2 Enquiry Report.
However, significant work has already been undertaken in Wales following the publication of the Phase 1 report, which includes establishment of the Building Safety Programme to drive delivery of the required reform and a route for all residential buildings over 11 metres tall to have fire safety issues addressed.
