Question
What discussions did the First Minister have with the UK Prime Minister on the money available for coal tip remediation, during their visit to Brechfa Forest Windfarm, Carmarthenshire on 20 August 2024?
Answer
Answered by First Minister (Eluned Morgan)
Coal tips in Wales need a sustained programme of investment to make them safe and sustainable for the future. The case for UK Government to contribute to the funding of the remediation and reclamation of disused coal tips is clear and compelling. This is something which Welsh Government has raised with UK Government at every available opportunity in recent years and will continue to raise.
