Question
What support has the Welsh Government implemented to help farmers who do not have capacity to store slurry in the closed period under NVZ regulations?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Welsh Government has offered over £52m of support through the current Nutrient Management Investment scheme and Small Grants – Yard Coverings scheme and previous grants. Both schemes support investments in on-farm infrastructure to enhance nutrient management and storage. The investments support farms to comply with The Water Resources (Control of Agricultural Pollution) (Wales) Regulations 2021.
