Question
Further to WQ93661, will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on any progress made to improve capacity and provision of rail services to and from Pembrokeshire?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
We are continuing to deliver improvements to rail services in Pembrokeshire and across Wales thanks to our £800m investment in new trains, which will allow us to increase the capacity of services and increase provision. Transport for Wales will be increasing the number of services they operate to and from Milford Haven alongside a more regular service pattern for Fishguard Harbour from December 2024 and next summer will operate additional services between Swansea and to cater for increased tourist demand. Transport for Wales will continue to work with Great Western Railway to best ensure that where possible there are good connections between both providers’ services to enable the onward link between Pembrokeshire and London.
