Question
What is the Welsh Government doing to protect XL Bully type dogs and ensure that they maintain a good quality of life, in light of the RSPCA's study that found that intentional harm to XL Bully type dogs has risen by 164 per cent in just 8 months?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
As the Dangerous Dogs Act is non-devolved, officials are in regular contact with their counterparts in Defra to mitigate any negative impacts of the ban.
We are also striving to improve the welfare of dogs and public safety through our Responsible Dog Ownership workshops, following last year’s summit.
