Question
What is the Welsh Government doing to safeguard animal life during flooding incidents?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Extreme weather can pose a major threat to animal welfare. Anyone who keeps animals outdoors in an area where there is a flood risk should make a plan to protect them. This should include where they’ll move them and how they’ll get them there.
We have published guidance online on caring for farm animals and horses in extreme weather – this includes links to other sources of information: Caring for farm animals and horses in extreme weather | GOV.WALES.
