Question
What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with Transport for Wales to ensure future line closures do not correspond with major events in Cardiff, in light of closures to major valley lines during the Cardiff Half Marathon?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
I regularly meet with the Chair and Chief Executive of Transport for Wales where we discuss a range of issues including major events, and how Transport for Wales closely work with partners to ensure the plan can best meet the needs of the passengers.
Transport for Wales ensured there was suitable alternative provision in place for passengers to continue to use public transport for their journeys to the Cardiff Half Marathon where engineering works took place.
