Question
What is the Welsh Government doing to ensure the survival of traditional Welsh farming practices?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Farming Connect offers a variety of advice and support that aids with the retention of traditional farming practices. Additionally, in 2024 £6.0m has been allocated to support small-scale capital projects on farms through the Small Grants – Environment scheme. Many of the capital works require the skills of craftspeople, such as hedge laying and drystone walling.
