Question
What incentives is the Welsh Government offering to dairy farmers to remain farming, in light of recent Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board data showing that 17 per cent of dairy farmers in Wales have left the industry in the last five years?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Through our agricultural schemes, we offer a range of support to enhance dairy farms financial and environmental performance. The Farming Connect ‘Our Farms Network’ includes dairy demonstration and focus farms. The Sustainable Farming Scheme will be available to all farmers, including those in the dairy sector, to ensure they have a strong and vibrant future.
