Question
What support is the Welsh Government giving to local authorities impacted by the collapse of ISG?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
Following the announcement that ISG was entering administration, officials in Education wrote to all local authorities to assess the impact and to offer advice and support.
Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, Cardiff Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council reported having live construction projects being delivered by ISG, including three projects funded through the Welsh Government’s Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme.
Officials meet regularly with the three local authorities and have established a regular roundtable discussion meeting between all parties to share information and advice.
Our priority is to support the local authorities to establish alternative delivery arrangements to ensure these important projects progress at the earliest opportunity.
