Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the construction of flood defences in Porthcawl?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Welsh Government is providing Bridgend County Borough Council with £63k to develop the strategic outline case for a potential scheme at Newton-Nottage.
We have previously provided the local authority with over £8m to construct schemes at Town Beach and Sandy Bay. These completed works reduce flood risk to 946 properties within Porthcawl.
