Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the steps that the Welsh Government is taking to grow the hedgehog population in Wales, and the success of this action?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Welsh Government supports a range of initiatives to help grow the hedgehog population in Wales. These include the Nature Networks and Local Places for Nature Programmes along with the NRW-led Natur am Byth project which supports action whilst encouraging community engagement to ensure our most precious habitats and species are given the chance to recover and thrive.
