Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary outline the steps that the Welsh Government is taking to prevent the spread of the bluetongue virus at upcoming winter fatstock shows around Wales?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Our ongoing Bluetongue communications campaign is reinforcing the importance of responsible purchasing practices and safe sourcing of livestock. These messages are promoted at regular meetings with stakeholders and via our comms channels.
The Animal and Plant Health Agency is working closely with show organisers to provide support and guidance ahead of upcoming shows.
