Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary confirm what steps the Welsh Government is taking to make sure that people are able to alight from trains safely?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
All Transport for Wales platform and onboard staff are trained to assist passengers with accessibility needs. The brand-new trains being introduced on the Core Valley Lines, thanks to our £800m investment in new fleets, include level boarding features to improve accessibility. Furthermore, our over £1bn investment to upgrade the Core Valley Lines will introduce step-free access to almost every station on the Core Valley Lines network.
