Question
What provisions are there in the Welsh Language and Education Bill to guarantee that the same principle of not going backwards that applies to school governing bodies when amending a plan to deliver Welsh language education also applies to local authorities when they reorganise education provision within a county?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Welsh Language
In accordance with the clear line of accountability put forward by the Bill, local authorities must take all reasonable steps to achieve the targets imposed on them by Welsh Ministers in the National Framework for Welsh Language Education and Learning Welsh.
