Question
How much did the Economy, Energy and Planning department spend in the past 12 months exploring opportunities to use artificial intelligence to improve productivity in the Welsh economy?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
It is not possible to quantify such activity in this way.
You will be aware that I have established a Short-Term Review into ‘AI and the Economy’, which will develop recommendations for next steps. We welcome the publication of the Clifford Recommendations (as commissioned by the UK Government into AI opportunities). This was published on 13 January, as part of the Prime Minister’s announcement on the AI Opportunities Plan and future investment in the UK, and we are working through the implications.
