Question
What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the connection between Green GEN Cymru's proposals for a connection project in mid Wales, and the proposed new high-voltage onshore connection between north and south Wales?

As both companies are still working up their final plans, the Welsh Government has not had sight of the detailed proposals from either organisation that would allow such an assessment to be made. We have, however, made it clear to both companies that plans for new networks in Wales must demonstrate how they meet our expectations that all new grid will contribute to delivering a future energy system with the least infrastructure delivering the maximum contribution to meeting Wales’s needs.
