Question
Has the independent advisory group on electricity transmission been given the resource to commission expert evidence on cost differentials between overhead lines and undergrounding?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
The Independent Advisory Group includes members with expertise in many areas including technical aspects of networks, which they are drawing on extensively. They are identifying and reviewing existing information relevant to the purpose of the group. The secretariat is commissioning organisations which have access to recent cost information to provide evidence. The group has not yet completed its review of the evidence to identify whether additional evidence needs to be commissioned.
