Question
What steps is the Cabinet Secretary taking to address the fact that funding is limiting the degree apprenticeship cohort at Bangor University to between six and seven students?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Further and Higher Education
Data supplied by Medr from the Higher Education Students Early Statistics (HESES) shows that there are 100 students enrolled on degree apprenticeships at Bangor University in the 2024/25 academic year – 75 on the Digital programme and 25 on the Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing programme.
Medr is reviewing the degree apprentice allocation process for AY 2025/26 to meet the needs of universities, employers, and learners throughout Wales.
The provisional budget for degree apprenticeships in financial year 2025-26 is just under £9.5 million.
