Question
What assessment has the Cabinet Secretary made of the affordability of the Welsh housing quality standards 2023 to housing associations?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government
Each of our social landlords are unique in terms of the number, age and condition of their housing stock. To develop a suitable future funding model, we need intelligence from our social landlord’s stock assessments and long-term plans. This intelligence will begin to flow this summer, when we receive the first round of data and compliance policy statements from the social landlords.
We will continue to work with the sector to look at alternative funding streams as the evidence from long term plans are finalised.
