Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on plans for direct train services between Llandudno and Liverpool?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
Transport for Wales remain on track to introduce a direct service between Llandudno and Liverpool in 2026. This is subject to Network Rail undertaking the relevant safety interventions to enable the service uplift. Transport for Wales are working collaboratively with Network Rail to deliver this, and they have recently issued a joint update to local communities regarding the proposals. The Llandudno to Liverpool service is part of major boost in capacity which will deliver a 50% increase in services on the North Wales Coast in 2026.
