How is the Cabinet Secretary working with NHS Wales to ensure that every hospital patient only has one hospital number?

The need to embed Welsh Health Circular (2015) 049 ‘operational standards for use of the NHS Number’ has been reiterated to all Health Boards in the NHS Wales Technical Planning Guidance 2025-28. Operational responsibility for implementing this requirement and resolving duplicate entries rests with individual Health Boards.
