Question
How is the Welsh Government working with Bangor University as it looks to make £15 million of savings?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Further and Higher Education
I visited Bangor University on 7 March and met with both the vice chancellor and staff unions to discuss the current financial challenges facing the institution.
Welsh Government has provided £28.5m in additional funding in the current financial year, as well as increased the tuition fee cap in two consecutive years.
Following a meeting with vice chancellors I published a written statement on 3 March setting out the actions Welsh Government is taking to address the financial challenges faced by our universities.
