Question
What consideration has the Welsh Government given to mitigating the impact caused by broken-down vehicles blocking the carriageway on the A465 between Brynmawr and Clydach in light of the lack of a hard shoulder or lay-bys?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
Road safety audits as part of the scheme design concluded the arrangements to be acceptable e.g. 50mph speed limit and the road is lit in hours of darkness. Welsh Government monitors the performance of it’s network including the A465 between Brynmawr and Clydach.
