Question
What discussions did the Cabinet Secretary have with Transport for Wales ahead of the Wales vs England rugby match in Cardiff on 15 March 2025?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
I have regular discussions with Transport for Wales (TfW) regarding operational performance. TfW develop a detailed event plan in collaboration with the local council, Principality Stadium, transport operators and other key stakeholders months before any major event in Cardiff. A full “Category A” plan was put in place for the Wales vs England rugby match on 15 March. The plan considers the projected numbers of passengers, volume of ticket sales and likely directions of travel into and out of the city centre. Over 75,000 passengers were safely accommodated through Cardiff Central on the day.
