Question
How is the Welsh Government ensuring that the National Independent Safeguarding Board has the capacity and resources needed to fully meet this role, particularly in monitoring the implementation of the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse inquiry’s final recommendations?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Children and Social Care
The Welsh Government funds the National Independent Safeguarding Board. In addition, we provide a full-time Senior Policy Manager to support them with their work. The Board has monitored the recommendations since May 2024 and receives quarterly updates from my officials. In its recent annual review 2022-2023, the Board have indicated they are content with the work ongoing to implement the recommendations.
