Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the total cost of managing Wales’s coal tips following the initial estimate figure of £600 million being based on limited information available at the time?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
Welsh Government has already committed to taking forward this work, in response to Recommendation 7 of the Senedd Climate Change, Environment and Infrastructure Committee’s Report on the Restoration of Opencast Sites. We will publicise the updated figure in due course, once it has been calculated.
