Question
What assessment has the Cabinet Secretary made of the impact on farming families of the recommendations of the UK Climate Change Committee's May 2025 report on Wales' Fourth Carbon Budget?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
We are reviewing the UK Climate Change Committee’s (UKCCC) advice carefully and will use it to inform the setting of our fourth Carbon Budget recommendations (2031-35) in regulations before the end of the year. In 2026, the next Welsh Government will publish its plan for meeting Carbon Budget 3 (2026-30), which has also been informed by the UK CCC’s advice.
